“Pigalle Bedfordview is a really great restaurant.”
I am an avid fan of Pigalle Sandton as the food is consistently delicious and the service is of the highest standard.
Pigalle Bedfordview is a close second and getting closer.
Of course, whether it is close or better is a personal opinion, perhaps because I have eaten at the Sandton restaurant so often, so maybe others will disagree on the first / second ratings.
The service is outstanding and their food wonderful.
The waiters (I hate the PC term waitron) are attentive to your needs without being obtrusive.
Our mains were a fillet, asked for, and made perfectly bleu and fortunately not served on a sizzling plate, which would have destroyed it, and a seafood platter which was superb.
Now if they could understand that a true Margarita is made with 2 TOTS OF JOSE CUERVO GOLD and NOT ONE, which, for some unaccountable reason seems to be the norm in South Africa, it would be amazing. When I did politely inform them that there should be 2 tots, they resultant margarita was one of the best I have had.
Although the prices are on the high side, it is definitely worth it.
