“A steep climb, but worth it.”
Clifton Beach is actually semi divided into 4 beaches.
The beaches are ‘divided’ by rocks.
1st beach is a family beach with a restaurant and the like.
2nd beach is more for teenagers and those ladies who like to sunbathe topless.
3rd and 4th beaches are more for the more slightly conservative.

“Great beaches, icy cold sea.”
The beaches at Clifton, 3kms / 1.7 m from Cape Town central, are basically divided into beaches 1 ,2, 3 & 4, all smallish beaches, divided by rocks and all interconnected.
Beach 4 is the easiest to get to and is more family orientated.
Beaches 1 & 2 are accessed by walking down steep steps running down the side of the ‘mountain’.
Beach 3 is also accessed down steep steps but can also easily be accessed from beach 4.
Even in summer the water temperature usually is a max of 22°C / 69F.
Beach 3 is a topless beach.
