“The Grand Pavilion is a new very upmarket restaurant but…”
It must have literally cost many millions to set up and is truly imposing.
The ‘outside’ section overlooks the promenade and is impressive.
They have a second large restaurant in the ‘back’, in which the lights are very dimmed, which does have a full bar facility.
Unfortunately there is no ‘noise abatement’ and as a result it is a problem as, with all the diners talking to each other it makes it difficult to hear your party if the table seats more than 6.
Regarding the food, I ordered a pasta with prawns. The prawns were more the size of shrimps and there were only about 7 in the dish.
My wife said her food was very good, however my other 2 guests felt that their food was ‘ok.’
It is a pity because The Grand Pavilion has the opportunity to be really great.
The food can obviously be improved, however I am not sure what they can do about the noise problem.
The prices are high, however they do have a few cheaper options.
