Allora is based in Franschhoek, approximately 75kms / 47miles from Cape Town.
We went there for dinner and were so glad we did.
The food was excellent and, unlike 90% of restaurants, they actually knew how to make a panna cotta.
Another point is that they served the red wine at the correct temperature approximately 18C/64F.
Most restaurants in South Africa, and many other countries for that matter, do not understand that ‘room temperature’ means European room temperature, and not room temperature no matter how hot it may be.
Johan, the owner, went out of his way with the guests to see that they were happy and the food was great.
A definite must if you are in the area.
