“The worst Pastrami / Corned Beef Reuben I have ever had.”
I had heard good reports about the food and atmosphere at The Stage Coach Tavern, and so on my last trip to New York towards the end of February, I decided to try it, specifically for the Pastrami or Corn Beef Reuben they served.
What a bitter disappointment.
Somehow they managed to make the rye bread soggy as well as toasted.
The Pastrami / Corned Beef was there but somewhat less than I expected, judging from other deli’s I had eaten at, and I am sure I did taste a smidgen of sauerkraut on the sandwich.
There absolutely was cheese on there but whether it was a good Swiss cheese is a moot point.
All in all a totally forgettable experience.
Oh, their draft beers were good.
