Brass Bell

“Definitely worth a visit.”

The Brass Bell is an institution in Kalk Bay.

Kalk Bay is approximately 30 Kms / 20 miles from Cape Town.

It is situated on the on the east coast of the Cape Peninsula.

On weekends it has different bands playing music from rock to jazz.

Perhaps it is an idea, when you phone to book,  to ask what music is being played on that day.

The downstairs area where they have a braai / barbecue for lunch and dinner.

For all those who don’t know what a braai is, it is definitely not a barbecue where hamburger patties are served.

They serve, steak, chops and boerewors (a South African type of sausage) with potatoes/salads etc.

For those who are used to the basic American type of barbecue’s, you are in for a treat.

If you are planning to go, be prepared for loud music, lots of teenagers and others up to about 30 years.

For those not into that, upstairs they have a more formal restaurant where the food is good.

Usually about a 30 minute drive from Cape Town.

In season up to 2 hours.
